Connecting Globalization to the Environment
Being discriminated for the color one carries while buying and selling once own environmental resources is just what happens in third world countries because of globalization. Globalization is the development of an increasingly integrated global economy. Environmental racism is the method that is used to discriminate towards low-income non-European background communities through the use of the environment. These two concepts are plugged in together because of the fact that egotistical corporations move into third world countries to manufacture products with cheap labor while destroying their environment which leads to environmental racism.
Globalization is seen as a good thing a bad thing at the same time. People disagree with globalization because it hurts people. It takes advantage of India by not providing them with any protecting from their toxic environments. These workers are over worked and pay poorly. Others do not seem to see the negative side of globalization and believe it is a good thing because without globalization products would not be going around the word to benefit everyone. The environment these workers work in are dehumanizing because they are crowded with thousands of other workers which leads to illnesses and bacteria being spread around. This is environmental racism because huge corporations own by white Americans target people of third world countries and forces them to work in condition that are unhealthy for the human body that end up having short life rate, cancer, heart attracts and many more deadly causes.
Since developing countries do not have as many resources as the United States it becomes easier for corporations that are from the U.S to move into these countries pay them not even minimum wage and while destroying their people by toxic waste. The Unites States pays a few thousands dollars to countries like India to allow computers, cell phones, radios, TVs, and any other electronic be toes in their landfill and let them not merely deal with our waste but the toxic chemicals that come with these devices once they are burn. Little kids at the age of eight are working in fields without any mask or protection when the United States has to money to at least buy them these protections. These all starts with globalization and ends up as environmental racism.
